Vegan food in Tamarindo

Sometimes being a vegan while traveling might be quite a bit tricky. But there is no problem finding vegan treats in Tamarindo. We have some tips for vegan-friendly places to try on your holiday. And even if you are not a vegan, we are sure you will fall in love with these places.

Pura Vegan

Located in the new restaurant market area called El Mercadito de Tamarindo, this food stall serves only vegan meals for a reasonable price. The menu includes treats from tacos to Thai food. Good location and relaxed vibes with delicious food, cannot get better than that!

Falafel Bar

If you are craving Mediterranean food, this is your answer! In this restaurant, you can find many vegan options and the best falafel and hummus in town. The quinoa salad is also good and certainly doesn’t leave you hungry.

Juice cafe

A cute little juice cafe serving organic juices and healthy vegan snacks. Try the chia-pudding or the vegetable plate with hummus, you won’t regret it. Next to the juice cafe, there is an organic shop where you can buy organic foodstuff and products.

There are many other cool places for vegans to try in Tamarindo and many of the restaurants have vegan options on their menus. Cafe Nordico and Waffle monkey are also nice places to explore for vegans. Also, different markets around Tamarindo may surprise you with some delicious vegan treats. Keep your eyes open for them!

And don’t forget that the traditional dish of Costa Rica, Gallo pinto which is rice and beans, is possible to order as vegan too and it’s definitely worth trying to get the cultural experience and the real taste of Costa Rica.
