“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
Concentrate on your dreams and try to turn them into a reality
Many things in our world start out as a dream, and each year on September 25th World Dream Day encourages individuals, communities, businesses, schools, and families to take some time to concentrate on their dreams and try to turn them into a reality.
Dream Day was set up in 2012 by instructor, educator, and transformational strategist, Ozioma Egwuonwu at Columbia University. It was her goal to create a day that would help to heal and inspire humanity She wanted to unite and stimulate all “dreamers” among us to realize that we have the power to change the world and transform our dreams into reality.
Why did you move to Costa Rica?
Living in Costa Rica a common question that it asked is how did you make the move and why?
If you are a part of any Facebook group in our country you can read dozens of posts daily about people wanting a change; whether they are solo, have a family, or are in the retirement phase of their life. Some people may come down with dreams and goals of wanting to open a business or purchase an existing one. Others may just want to kick back and live the life that they have heard is called “PURA VIDA” or the pure life. The commonality that everybody shares though is Costa Rica is a dream destination for them. If you are one of these people world dream day might be the perfect day to start putting the wheels in motion and achieving your dreams.
Is your dream to travel to Costa Rica? Start by booking your stay at Sirena Serena. We can help you achieve Pura Vida.
However, if you are already living in your dream destination or are not dreaming of escaping where you are at, then dream day may be about what matters to you. What gives you a sense of purpose? Or what do you want from your life?
Don’t let fear hold you back
Costa Rica is a dream for many people and in going back to the question of how did you make the move and why? I have found that people generally ask this because to them making such a big move out of your their country and away from what is familiar requires a big leap of faith and moving past certain fears.
One thing that tends to stop most people from achieving their dreams is fear. Whether they fear the challenges that lie ahead or worried that they will fail on their quest to achieve their goals. Moving past your fear requires adopting a healthy mindset and learning to embrace the unknown.
How can we celebrate World Dream Day?
So how can we celebrate and use World Dream Day to make our dreams, no matter what they are, a reality?
Start by making a dream list. Write down your dreams and be conscious of them. Think uniquely don’t feel like you need to pick a certain dream for the sake of someone else, this is personal to you.
Encourage others to spread the word about dream day. People need encouragement and with so many people around the world with so much potential giving people the nudge they need can help them achieve their dreams as well. Take a step in the right direction every day. Follow up and take action until you reach your destination.
And remember there will always be negative opinions but sharing your dreams. Like-minded people can keep you accountable and give you the motivation you need.
So, this year on the 25th of September, reflect on your dreams for yourself and this world and what you can do to make them come true.
